Au Grès Des Ouches, Morogues

If you ever in the region of Menetou Salon tasting wine and want to visit a good restaurant then I can heartily recommend Au Grès des Ouches in Morogues, not too far from Henri Pellé.  We went there in early January this year and had a very nice lunch.  It is particularly good for wine lovers as they serve very good wines by the class.

If want you good addresses in Menetou Salon for trying wine I would heartily recommend the following (click on the links):

Henri Pélle, Morogues (possibly the best)
Domaine Phillipe Gilbert  (Biodynamic, love the rosé)
Clement-Chatenoy (often drink this when in Bourges)

and one I tried recently which is sold at a house with a good ceramic collection;

Chateau Maupas (also a nice house to visit)

The wines of Menetou Salon include;

Whites (Sauvignon Blanc both oaked and unoaked)
Rosés (Pinot Noir)
Reds (Pinot Noir both oaked and unoaked0

Exceptional wines by the glass and good company at lunch
Pasta starter
Wonderfully cooked Sea Bass and Cepes
General ambiance and Cheese Board
Amazing Caramel Mille Feuilles

After our lunch we took a drive around the Morogues vineyards and then paid a visit to Henri Pellé and bought a good selection of their wines including the very interesting bin end below that was really fantastic.  It was a 2007, thus about 7 years old - don't let anyone tell you that you should always drink Menetou Salon young.
